When I went to visit Alana at the Torch Club for our Bartenders We Heart feature on the site, she made me a delicious drink called the Auditorium. It was really good! I wanted the next one as soon as I could get it. That got me thinking about how it can be difficult to get that next tasty drink on a busy night at a bar. So, I asked Alana for her expert advice as a server of happiness...I mean bartender.
The following are the tips Alana gave me to get my drink faster on those crowded weekend nights.
Alana's Tips on Getting That Drink Faster
Throwing something at the bartender attention to get their attention never works
Know what you want to order before the bartender gets to you
Don't raise your hands or whistle, you'll be put at the back of the line
Have money in hand
If you want the same drink put money under your glass, the bartender should know what this means (refill me!)
Don't forget to tip
It always helps to know the bartender
