SACRAMENTO -- A group of Architectural firms have turned a Midtown street into an architectural demonstration of urban parks.
It's known as a "parklet." An urban parking space that's been artistically enhanced into a "mini-park" as a reminder of how important open space is to our well-being.
"It provides a lot of recreation, it provides shade and oxygen," Jeff Townsend of Jacobs Engineering Group said.
Townsend is working on a parklet celebrating special places in people's lives.
"You'll be able to come into our park and put a dot on a map and you can write a little story about what significant place has influenced you in your life," Townsend said.
His, and other parklets, are on display along 20th street between J and K streets.
