In the aftermath of a Children's Receiving Home Counselor pleading guilty to sex with a minor at the facility a lawsuit against the home is in the works.
When asked if Administrators at Children's Receiving Home should bear some of the responsibility following the conviction of counselor Theresa Gooch, attorney Stewart Katz was adamant.
"Absolutely. Apart from hiring Gooch, they had knowledge of what was going on. They failed to take appropriate action," Katz said.
Katz is representing the female victim in a civil action against the Children's Receiving Home.
Gooch pleaded guilty to three felony counts of unlawful sex with a minor and providing marijuana to the victim on Oct. 8, and is expected to be given one year in county jail and five years probation when she is formally sentenced Nov. 14.
