Police in Lincoln says they had to arrest a woman with a gun last night. That woman, they add, is 96 years old.
Police say officers made a welfare check on the woman after her daughter called to say she had locked herself inside a bedroom of her home on Wagon Wheel Lane.
One of officers went into the home and announced himself, but as he made his way down the hallway, the woman fired off a single shot which narrowly missed him.
He quickly got out. Police were eventually able to talk the woman into surrendering the gun.
She left the home using her walker. No charges expected, but she was taken in for a psychiatric evaluation.
