Experiencing some slow loading times? Can't stream that movie? No need to call customer service...there's just been a global internet slowdown. And its all been chalked up to a massive cyberattack. It seems the European spam-fighting group Spamhaus has sparked some anger from a site it recently blacklisted and that site is fighting back.
They're doing what's called a denial of service - sending in so much random information that it's clogging up the group's servers. How is that effecting the rest of the world? Think of it like rushour traffic. The attack is putting enough cars on the offramp that it's clogging up the entire highway. Here's the unfortunate part: there's nothing we can do until this feud ends.
